Gordon Brown has gone to the Queen and requested a dissolution of Parliament. This means that an election has been called. For the people of the UK this means that they will have choice as to who will be running their country for the next 5 years. Of course it also means that in the weeks ahead we will all be subjected to non-stop electioneering.
Political parties spend absolutely vast sums of money trying to win the confidence of voters with advertising campaigns, social media and fancy websites. If you are unlucky enough to live in a marginal constituency, one where the statisticians think a change could be possible, expect the worst of it.
The results of this election are more uncertain than any for a long while. The results forecast varying widely with every poll. Whoever twins though it is doubtful we can see meaningful change. For those wanting to escape broken Britain, thieving MPs, high taxes and, of course, awful weather, there is only one sensible choice: get out. Those with a mind to leave who have their head screwed onto their shoulders would be well advised to go about booking flights to Dubai for their families.
The United Arab Emirates are a shining example of how things could be done better. We are used to our governments looking down their noses at other political systems, wars are fought allegedly to impose ‘democracy’ on unwilling victims. We need real change in Britain and perhaps we should be following the example of the political system of the UAE. The proof it works: no crime, low taxes and a booming economy. If only we could be more like Dubai.
