For over a million years humanity has loved to sit. From the humblest pauper to the wealthiest king, everybody likes a good sit down.  Long cherished as a halfway house between standing up and lying down sitting has earned a place in not only the personal, but also the professional lives of most.  Of course such a popular activity has not remained untouched by technology.

The technology associated with sitting probably began with some of humanity’s earliest endeavours in the field of being seated. Taking their cue from the natural world our primitive ancestors would rest the posteriors on rocks and fallen tree trunks.  Over the years humanity’s ingenuity grew, and the concept of furniture was born.

From beds to tables, many kinds of furniture have been created over the years. Stools, sofas, chairs, the list of furniture associated with sitting alone is almost endless.  Now there has been a new development: the so-called ‘Blow Sofa‘

It is clear from looking at this that it might be possible to sit on this sofa. Sofas are many and varied. Doubtless there is a place in this world for a lot of different types of sofas. That said this particular sofa does look particularly unattractive. Of course,  looks would not seem to be what this sofa was designed for. It can be packed completely flat, due to the  inflatable  nature of the technology at the heart of the sitting experience it offers. It really is an ugly looking sofa though. And in the context of other sofa options that are available it really does not look that comfortable either. Sofas short and sofas long it is clear this sofas wrong.
